The Price of a Trip Can not Be Changed If It Remains Less Than 20 Days
The tour operator can not change the cost of an organized trip if there are less than 20 days until departure. Other material terms in the contract are subject to editing no later than ten days until the start date. For the rest of the time, if there is an unacceptable change of these parameters in the contract the user has the right to withdraw from the contract without default. This was reminded the Chairman of the Commission for Consumer Protection (CPC) Dimitar Margaritov before the beginning of the active summer season and the breaks.
Essential elements of an organized trip can be a route, vehicles, accommodation, cultural and historical sights to visit, and so on.
About the costs, Margaritov warned that there are unrealistically low prices for tourist services. By specifying that much depends on the components included in the package, he emphasized that there are levels below which promise cannot be fulfilled.
"The combination of colorful pictures and nicely described services and the disproportionately low price should always be suspicious to the user. Before proceeding to purchase such a trip, everyone could contact the offeror, ask several control questions to make sure the offer is serious and correct, "said the CPC chairman before the national television.
Margaritov explained that the contract for organized travel, the issued vouchers for the services included and the payment documents would help to solve a possible problem. It is important, however, that the tour operator is also registered with a valid professional liability insurance.
When users organize their trip by themselves, the risks are more, especially if they are more trustworthy and have little experience in selecting destinations, sites, etc., the CPC chairman said. From his point of view, it is important that there is no misleading information about the type of different varieties of objects and the services they can offer since in the case of a self-organization, what the tourists choose and experience is directly related to their searches.
