On May 1, the rehabilitation of the entrance of Burgas from the Trakia highway begins, announced Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov, quoted by the press center of the department headed by him. The stretch is about 8 km in length and is very bad condition. On May 1, the Minister will be on inspection of sites in Burgas.
"I expect, by the middle of June, the commitment made last year - to complete the rehabilitation of the Pomorie - Aheloy road," Nankov said. It will also be worked on 7 km of the Black Sea Motorway, Dobrich - Albena road, as well as on the way to Golden Sands.
This year, the right pipes will be repaired - in the direction of Sofia, the Echemiska and Vitinya tunnels as well as the most critical bridges of Hemus Motorway. The repair works started in 2017 will continue on about 40 road sections, including the Eastern arch of the Sofia ring road, the exit to Blagoevgrad between Vladaya and Daskalovo junction, sections in North and Northwestern Bulgaria. The rehabilitation of road sections continues with funds from Operational Program "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020. With 300 million leva from it will be repaired 27 road sections.
Construction of motorway sections continues. The construction of another 30 km of Struma Motorway will be completed within this year. The construction of 9.3 km from the Hemus Motorway between Yablanitsa and the Boaza junction began. Within a month and a half, another 16.5 km will start between the Buhovtsi road junction and the Belokopitovo junction. A tender procedure for another 52 km of the highway is about to begin. If contracts are signed on the tenders for the "Jeleznitsa" tunnel and the road to Kalotina, this year the work will start.
"We are also working hard on introducing the toll system because we have an ambitious program, but without it, we will not be able to implement it", said Minister Nankov.
