Bulgaria: Former Brazilian President goes to Jail due to Corruption twitter.com

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva gets imprisoned after being convicted of corruption, news agencies reported. Brazil's Supreme Court rejected 6 to 5 votes in favor of the former president's request not to be deprived of his liberty while appealing a 12-year prison sentence.

The decision of supreme magistrates means that the 72-year-old former head of state may be imprisoned in the next few hours. So far, he has been a favorite in polls on the upcoming presidential election in Brazil in October.
