Bulgarian and U.S. Armed Forces have completed a 5-day joint tactical exercise in Bulgaria. Bulgarian Armed Forces Lt. Col. Ivaylo Ivanov was Commanding Officer over the combined U.S. and Bulgarian soldiers.
Lt. Col. Ivanov said the joint exercise “improved our interoperability at the lowest tactical level. I appreciate the fact that [the U.S. soldiers] were with us in those harsh weather conditions, and this proved that motivation contributed to this exercise. What I saw as a Battalion Commander? I would be proud to have them in my ranks not only for exercise, but also for any future real world activities.”
