At least 34 people, including 17 children, were killed in an air strike in the town of Harem in the northwest Syrian province of Idlib today, the Syrian Human Rights Watch said.

The non-governmental monitoring organization, which is based in the UK and has a broad network of informants in Syria, said it was a bombed market.

The number of victims is likely to increase as many of the injured are in poor condition.

Idlib province is the largest rebel bastion in Syria. It regularly becomes a target of air strikes by Syrian government forces and Russian military planes.
