Bulgaria: Earthquake of Magnitude 3.5 on the Richter Scale was Recorded Last Night near Provadia archive

An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale was recorded last night near Provadia. This was announced by the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake, registered 13 minutes after midnight, was magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake was 37 kilometers southwest of Varna and 11 kilometers southeast of Provadia. The quake was 2 kilometers deep.

The earthquake was felt only on the territory of Provadia. There is no evidence of damages and injuries, said the deputy mayor of the municipality Muhamedin Sufyan. He specified that for the time being, no one has signaled to the municipality about problems caused by the earthquake.

The Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences reports that there have been some very weak secondary earthquakes, but the situation is normal.
