Russia to Inject USD 21 M in Bulgaria's N-plant Upgrade

Russia will release this year a credit of over USD 21 M for reconstruction and modernization of Bulgaria's only Nuclear Power Plant Kozloduy. That emerged during Friday's meeting of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Russian Committee on Technical, Economic and Scientific Cooperation in St. Petersburg.

Both co-chairs Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Vassilev and Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin expressed readiness to boost cooperation between the two countries.

Russia is wiling to expand its presence on the Bulgarian gas market and to participate in the privatisation of Bulgarian gas companies, Kudrin said.

We have never had better relations in the recent years," Deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Vassilev commented.
