John McVicar, reformed villain who gained in popularity with his autobiography, has teamed up with the Marquess of Bath to give Bulgarian tourist industry a shot in the arm, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The unlikely pair of English entrepreneurs are to launch a travel company, Artnik Adventures to run just as unlikely package holidays to the remote Strandja region. Among the itineraries will be "shooting trips with John McVicar" and "courting and mating wilderness treks" with Bath.
"In my urban cowboy days in the 1960s I used to put pellets into the ceilings of banks," says McVicar. "Nowadays, I do a bit of hunting."
"Strandja is a peculiar area, on the border with Turkey, which is just opening up to tourism. There are wild boar, deer and grouse out there. And with the Government doing its best to ban field sports in Britain, I reckon more and more people are going to be travelling abroad."
Bath, for his part, comments: "I'm not much of a traveller, but there's always time to subject oneself to new things. The treks will be easy excursions, as I do not like to be gruelled [sic] too much. I plan to spend a lot of time talking about my favourite subject: myself."
