Bulgaria will host a Balkan championship in sailing next year. The initial plans were to have the championship on September 9-17 in Turkey but they failed when Greece, Turkey and
Yugoslavia proved unable to agree about the host country. It emerged that the likely host now will be the Nessabur 2000 Sailing Club, whose President Atanas Katrafilov has already established contacts with the chiefs of the European Federation.
