KUCHMA MET BULGARIAN PRIME MINISTER

Ukranian President Leonid Kuchma had a private meeting with Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg. The topics that were discussed between the two politicians were not disclosed. Kuchma also spoke in front of the 39th Bulgarian Parliament. He is the first foreign president to deliver a speech to this National Assembly. Kuchma said that Ukraine acclaims NATO`s efforts in Macedonia. According to him, the Stability Pact projects for South Eastern Europe will allow the active cooperation between Bulgaria and Ukraine in terms of the transportation corridors and the navigation on the Danube, for example. The Ukranian President also met Foreign Minister Passy at a business breakfast. They discussed the visa regime between the two countries. Kuchma also met Parliament Speaker Ognyan Gerdzhikov and talked with him about the strengthening of the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Ukraine. Before leaving the country, the Ukranian delegation was invited to a farewell lunch by Bulgarian President Stoyanov.
