Bulgaria: Bulgaria’s Environment Minister: There Is Enough Water in Dams BGNES

There is enough water in the dams for electricity production, water supply and irrigation, announced outgoing Environment Minister Ivelina Vasileva.

Water supply of residential areas and irrigation has been guaranteed for the upcoming months. The availability of a twice larger snow reserve will provide enough flow to the dams which will guarantee the consumption of the consumers of water reserves, as well as sufficient volume for the absorption of the snow thaw and full spring water flow.”

The minister also made it clear that administrative sanctions will be imposed on NEK for the draining of the Vacha dam which caused the fish there to die.
