Bulgarian prosecuting authorities have indicted three migrants on charges of hooliganism and obstruction to police.

The Harmani Regional Prosecutor's Office has taken the step in relation to the November 24 unrest at the Harmani migrant reception center in Southern Bulgaria, where hundreds of migrants were hurt and hundreds were arrested.

The defendants are two Afghans and an Iraqi national. Two of them have been placed under a recognizance order, while the third one, who is still a minor, will be placed under the oversight of an agency working with child offenders, according to the prosecutors.

As many as eighteen other Afghan nationals have been indicted so far in relation to the riots.

The unrest broke out after nearly 3000 residents of the camp, until then operated without restriction to movement, were locked up by authorities due to Harmanli locals' concerns that many of them had severe skin diseases. The rumours were later fended off, with only a small percentage of the migrants being infected with scabies.
