It is not immediately known what led to the blast of cisterns which exploded in the northeastern Bulgarian village of Hitrino, leaving at least five people dead.
The cisterns, mounted on a cargo rail composition, were loaded with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and propylene.
Nastimir Ananiev, the chair of Parliament's transport committee, says speeding or technical mistakes in making the train composition may have caused the incident.
The freight train was operated by Bulmarket, a private company licensed for cargo transportation, says it is not aware of what caused the incident.
Stanko Stankov, company owner, has told the Bulgarian National Television that the cisterns, owned by a Romanian company, went through all technical checks before being allowed into the Bulgarian rail network.
"They were taken to a check, with a 1000% certainty," he has told the public broadcaster.
Earlier, Bulgarian Prime Minister in resignation Boyko Borisov has said the driver is being inquired over the incident.
