Bulgaria: EC President Juncker: No Abolition of Visas Unless Anti-Terrorist Law in Turkey Is Changed BGNES

Turkey is heading in the opposite direction of Europe day by day, stated European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

“It will become necessary one day, when there are no longer 28 member-states, for Turkey to state clearly whether it wants to – or not – to be an equal member of the EU. All that Turkish authorities are doing today makes me think that, in the end, Turkey does not wish to respect European standards,” stated Juncker.

Without an amendment to the anti-terrorist law in Turkey, which allows the arrests of political opponents and journalists, there will be no abolition of visas, announced Juncker.
