For the first time in the history of the presidential elections in Bulgaria, there is such a narrow gap between the first and the second candidate, while the two of them have the support of less than 50% of the voters, announced Boryana Dimitrova, managing director of Alpha Research.

The survey of the sociological agency shows also growing electoral activity, a narrowing of the difference between the first two candidates and a referendum that is “on the verge” of being valid.

Electoral activity is expected at 69%, compared to 61% estimated in October.

The last survey of the agency shows that the referendum might turn out to be valid, given the fact that in October 52% of the voters said they would vote in it. In November, voters who made a statement to the same effect were already 61% or 3.6 million.

The data revealed that the number of people who will not support anyone at the first round of elections has dropped from 10.8% in October to 6.1% in November.
