Bulgaria: Bulgaria Drops to 39th Place in World Bank's Doing Business Ranking BGNES

Bulgaria has dropped from 38th to 39th place in the Doing Business ranking of the World Bank, which includes 190 countries.

In spite of the slight improvement, the worst evaluation of the country is in the Getting Electricity Category – 104th.

In the overall ranking, the categories Paying Taxes (83rd), as well as Starting a Business, where Bulgaria drops 4 places to 82nd, also contribute to the lower placement of the country.

According to the World Bank, conditions in Bulgaria have deteriorated with respect to the category Protecting Minority Investors – a drop from 10th to 13th place, compared to 2015.

In the category Getting Credit, Bulgaria drops three places and ranks 32nd.

Bulgaria drops one position in the categories Dealing With Construction Permits (48th), Resolving Insolvency (48th) and Registering Property (60th).

Bulgaria maintains its ranking in the categories Trading Across Borders (21st) and Enforcing Contracts (49th).

According to the ranking of the World Bank, the top 3 countries to do business are New Zealand, Singapore and Denmark.
