Bulgarian Activists to Protest against EU Trade Deals with US, Canada

A demonstration against the EU's prospective free-trade agreements with the United States and Canada is to be held in Bulgaria's Sofia on Sunday.
Organizers say the action, which begins at 16:00 in Kristal garden, opposite the National Military Club in downtown Sofia, is part of a wave of demostrations across Europe and will be accompanied by similar activities in the towns of Vidin, Dobrich and Varna.
Za Zemiata, an environmental movement, the Bulgaria of Solidarity movement, coalition Bulgaira without GMO, and several other entities are calling in the protest.
CETA (EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement) is expected to be voted by EU member states on October 18. Organizers accuse the Bulgarian government of standing ready to give it the green light without having conducted an in-depth analysis of its impact.
