Bulgaria PM Vows to Resign if Party Loses Presidential Elections

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has pledged to step down if his party's candidate loses the first round of presidential elections due on November 06.
Borisov has told journalists he is ready to submit his resignation as early as the night when first results are announced, according to Focus News Agency.
He has asserted it is the first round of elections that lets parties test their strength.
In Bulgaria, a run-off vote is held if a presidential (or mayoral) candidate fails to secure more than half of votes cast.
His comments follow the announcement made by his party GERB on Sunday, when the name of Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva was unveiled as a presidential candidate and that of Vice Admiral Plamen Manushev as her running mate.
The presidential campaign itself begins on October 05.
