European Parliament Passes Law to Restrict Cash Payments to €10,000
The European Parliament has voted to impose a €10,000 limit on cash payments within the European Union
Thousands of Hungarians took to the streets to protest against the anti-migrant policy of the government of PM Viktor Orban.
The demonstration was organised by non-governmental organisations. It took place on the eve of the referendum in which citizens are to accept or reject the quotas introduced by the EC for the distribution of refugees who have reached the member-states of the EU.
The referendum is on Sunday. Hungarians have to answer the question: “Do you agree the EU to order the mandatory placement of non-Hungarian citizens in Hungary without the agreement of Parliament?”
The Hungarian PM Viktor Orban adamantly opposed the policy of the EU regarding the refugees and stated that his country will not accept migrants. According to him, this would mean an increase in terrorism on the Old Continent.
According to preliminary surveys, Hungarians will vote against the refugee quotas of the EC.
