Bulgaria's President Repeats Intention Not to Run Again

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has said he took the decision not to seek a second term alone, citing personal reasons.
"Everyone is aware of the personal reasons I have, moreover, the people know of the tragedy that struck me and my family a year ago," Plevneliev has told private national NOVA |TV station in an interview.
The head of state has denied there could be other reasons behind his decision.
One of his children, Filip Plevneliev, passed away last summer.
Plevneliev, who in May declared he would not run again, was elected in 2011 after being nominated by the biggest and then governing GERB party of PM Boyko Borisov.
There are a few candidates that GERB could offer, and it is a "well kept secret" who they are, Plevneliev has made clear.
But he has also raised his concern that there are no candidate names officially announced less than four months before the presidential elections which are likely to take place late in October.
No major party has announced a candidate as of Wednesday, July 06.
