Bulgarian Media Regulator Elects Alexander Velev to Head Public Radio

Alexander Velev has been elected Director General of Bulgarian public radio broadcaster BNR.

Velev will replace Alexander Yankulov who will complete his term of office on May 26.

The Council of Electronic Media (CEM) elected Velev unanimously in a 5-0 vote out of 12 candidates for the position, BNR said on Tuesday.

Velev served as BNR Director General from 1998 to 2001.
