The ban on EU food imports to Russia has resuted in BGN 300 M worth lost revenues, Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva has said.

In an interview with the Bulgairan National Radio, she has explained it was not so much direct exports (worth 20 M annually) as issues related to pricing that have led to the substantial amount of money agricultural producers failed to earn between August 2014, when the ban was imposed, and this January.

Russia introduced a ban on the imports of agriculgural products from the EU and several other western countries, in retaliation after sanctions were imposed on Moscow over the Ukraine crisis.
