Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said he has referred the case of reported misuse of funding by the State Agency for Refugees (SAR) to the prosecution.
Instances of misuse, like the procurement of food for refugees accomodated in SAR's center at inflated prices, without calling public tenders, were reportd by private national NOVA TV station.
On Monday Borisov fired SAR head Nikola Kazakov, initially refusing to disclose a reason but later telling journalists it had been information for the alleged wrongdoing that had pushed him to take the step.
Dnevnik.bg quotes him as saying at an event on Monday evening he had also dismissed the agency's secretary, Zlatko Aleksandrov.
