Bulgaria: Airplane Performs Emergency Landing at Sofia Airport Due to Drunk Passenger

An airplane conducting a flight between London and Beirut performed an emergency landing at Sofia airport on Tuesday evening due to an aggressive drunk passenger on board.

Under the influence of alcohol, the passenger started to behave aggressively with crew members and other passengers and according to some reports embroiled in a fight with another passenger.

The drunk passenger, who will not be detained, was dismounted and interrogated by Bulgarian authorities.

The flight of British Airways continued on its route to Beirut, with the emergency landing not causing any disruption to the flight schedule of the airport in the Bulgarian capital.

In November last year an airplane conducting a flight between Warsaw and Egypt performed an emergency landing at the airport of Burgas due to a false bomb threat issued by a passenger on board.
