The Bulgarian government will be subjected to a vote of no confidence over its healthcare policy.
This was announced by the leader of the largest opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Mihail Mikov on Thursday.
BSP will initiate the censure motion due to the failure of the government in its healthcare policy.
Mikov noted that the reason for choosing this topic is not the ongoing scandal with the Turkish vaccines containing quicksilver, which have been identified as harmful for one's health.
On Wednesday, the prosecutor's office announced that the vaccines were not harmful, but were banned for use in Bulgaria.
The Socialist leader stated that there were other reasons to seek censure motion in this sector, such as the forthcoming introduction of additional payment for medicines and the split of healthcare services into main and additional packages.
Together with the second largest opposition party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), Socialist MPs will insist on holding debate on the issue with the vaccines.
A working group, which will be entrusted with formulating the motives for the censure motion, will most likely be established on Friday.
DPS assured that it firmly backs BSP for initiating the censure motion in the healthcare sector.
