The highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov proceeded to the quarterfinals of the Apia International tournament which is taking place in Sydney.

In a match from the second round on Wednesday, Dimitrov defeated Pablo Cuevas from Uruguay with 7:6 (2), 6:4.

Thus the Bulgarian recorded his second victory against Cuevas in their third encounter.

The first set ended well for Dimitrov, who managed to claim the tie-break after establishing a comfortable 6:0 lead.

The second set also started well for the Bulgarian, who achieved a break in the opening game and went on to claim the final victory.

In the quarterfinals, Dimitrov will face Alexandr Dolgopolov from Ukraine
