An airplane performed an emergency landing at the airport in the Bulgarian Black Sea port of Burgas on Thursday morning after a passenger on board claimed a bomb had been planted on the aircraft.
The airplane was conducting a charter flight between the Polish capital of Warsaw and the Egyptian resort of Hurghada, the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) informs.
The plane, an Airbus A320, was operated by a Polish airline, bTV reported. It did not name the company.
Following the bomb threat, the crew demanded an emergency landing.
The passengers have been taken away from the aircraft and their identity is being established, with the airplane inspected at a safe distance.
The airport in Burgas was the site of a terrorist attack in July 2012 when a suicide bomber blew himself up on a passenger bus transporting Israeli tourists.
The attack claimed the lives of the Bulgarian driver of the bus and five Israeli tourists.
According to Russian officials, a homemade bomb on board the aircraft caused the crash of the Kogalymavia airplane in Egypt's Sinai peninsula on October 31.
None of the 224 people on board the airplane survived the crash.
