Austria's VAMED to Build Pediatric Hospital in Sofia

Austrian company VAMED Engineering presented its project for construction of a new Pediatric University Hospital in Sofia. VAMED that have built 250 high-profile hospitals across the world announced that the 150-bed hospital in Sofia will be designed according to all international standards and will incorporate the latest technology thus becoming the best equipped heath institute in Bulgaria. According CEO Johan Strahlhoffer, VAMED is ready to start the construction works next year and will complete the EUR 40 M project till 2005. The projected location is next to the existing Infectious Disease Hospital that Bulgaria's Health Ministry and the Austrian company plan to re-build as a second stage of the project. Both hospitals will use jointly some of the facilities and this solution will cut the expanses substantially, Strahlhoffer said. The finding of the project is secured by a loan from the Austrian government.
