Prosecutors in the Black Sea city of Burgas said on Monday no photos or video recordings of violence had been found on the mobile devices of migrants detained after the incident in which one of them died from a gunshot wound.
This comes as a forensic report is expected to confirm or deny on Monday the version that Interior Ministry officials put forward which says the migrant was hit by a border police bullet that ricocheted, but was not directly targeted.
Police say a bullet fired as a warning to the dozens of migrants hiding under a bridge on Thursday evening rebounded off the bridge hitting one of them and causing his death as emergency teams were trying to save his life.
Earlier reports suggested the phones of most of the men, supposedly of Afghan origin (but with no proper documents), contained disturbing images which migrants normally show to police in their transit destination countries or upon arrival in Germany (where most are heading now) to prove they fled violence in their homeland.
On Sunday, officials revealed they had established the identity of the man who lost his life and also argued he and some others within the group were familiar with the route they were going through.
