Bulgarian ambassador to Turkey, Nadezhda Neynski, said on Monday that an official information on the suspected perpetrators of the twin suicide bombings carried out near the central railway station of Ankara on Saturday was still lacking.

Until now, the terrorist attack has claimed the lives of 128 people and has left another 160 injured, some of them in critical conditions.

The bombings targeted the participants in a peace rally protesting the escalating conflict between Turkish security forces and the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

This constituted the bloodiest terrorist attack in Turkey and it has left the country in deep shock, Neynski added in an interview for private bTV station.

She explained that there were harsh voices from the opposition, while at the same time analysts saw the attack as an attempt at destabilising Turkey immediately before the early parliamentary elections and in the context of the crisis in the region.

In her words, Turkish authorities have called on parties and the state for a common stance against terrorism and to stop making distinctions between “good” and “bad” terrorism.

The version, which is most actively being disseminated, is that Islamic State (IS) stands behind the terrorist attacks since parallel is drawn between the Saturday attack and the one, which occurred in Suruc in July.

The parallel is drawn both by the security forces and the opposition leaders, above all the leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) – Selahattin Demirtas.

Neynski reminded that threats have been issued against Turkey and President Recep Erdogan for the inclusion of Ankara in the international coalition against IS.

She noted that official information is almost lacking, but the most widely disseminated version is that a man and a woman carried out the suicide bombings.

Neynski added that she expects an official version to be released later on Monday.
