Oxford Centre Bulgaria plans further expansion of its operations by opening new centers across the country and intensifying its programs for teachers, Petros Papasarantopoulos, Managing Director of Oxford Centre said at a news conference. Oxford Centre, exclusive representative for Oxford University Press, stepped on the Bulgarian market ten years ago. In the words of Papasarantopoulos the centre faced a number of difficulties at the beginning, since many people were reluctant to use original books. Step by step people realized that the original books have an added value, which is unique, Papasarantopoulos recalled. He underlined with satisfaction the great success that has been achieved over the past ten years with sales reaching 40,000 copies last year from all publishers it represents. Since 2000 Oxford Centre lends a hand to all those who study and teach German, French, Spanish and Italian language by distributing materials of Max Hueber Verlag and Langenscheidt (Germany), Hachette (France), Espasa (Spain) and Alma Edizioni (Italy).
