Bulgaria Parliament Speaker to Meet CE Delegation over Constitution

Constitutional amendments drafted by MPs will top the agenda at a meeting of Bulgaria's Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva and a delegation of the Venetian Commission with the Council of Europe, officials have said.
Prior to that members of team visiting Sofia will hold talks with lawmakers from the interim Constitution Committee, according to Parliament's press office.
The Venetian Commission is to later prepare its own position on the draft changes which have become a key goal for part of the ruling axis.
Junior coalition partner Reformist Bloc (RB), alongside the main ruling party GERB), are insisting that only through constitutional amendments can the efficiency of Bulgaria's judicial system be increased, amid pressure from the fellow member states to renew the fight against corruption and organized crime.
