Mobile chat messaging and VoIP service company Viber has announced it is opening a representation office for Central and Eastern Europe in Sofia as part of plans to affirm and increase its footprint in the region, dnevnik.bg reported on Monday.
Atanas Raykov, a Bulgarian national will be Viber’s general manager for the CEE region, the news outlet quoted the company as saying in a statement.
The region of Central and Eastern Europe is among the top three markets for Viber, in which the company has about 27 million unique users. Globally, Viber now has 600 million unique users.
Raykov will be in charge of Viber’s expansion in 13 countries of the CEE region with initial focus to be put on Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary and Serbia which the company sees as leading regional markets both in terms of usage of its services and development potential.
