Boyko Borisov Votes with a Paper Ballot: Is there a Functioning Machine, or Have They Run Out?
Boyko Borisov chose to cast his vote with a paper ballot in Bankya today.
"Laws are made in a way that, having a good lawyer, one can avert responsibility."
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov commenting in an interview with NOVA TV on a recent case of a car thief who managed to steal another vehicle while placed under house arrest.
On a referendum set for October 25 which was to include mandatory voting (but the question was rejected by lawmakers), he said:
"Bulgarians hate mandatory things. There are so many things that have to be solved that when I hear about Parliament I go around this. The word "mandatory" in particular is one I dislike."
On political opponents and about the so-called "Kostinbrod affair" when socialists accused his GERB party (which had resigned three months earlier to pave the way for early elections) of having printed 350 000 fake ballots to win a snap poll, he warned:
"Any dog that has ever bitten me has gone rabid."

Let's not excuse violence, or rationalize it, or participate in it.
"Europe hasn't done its homework...
