Bulgaria: Health Authorities Temporarily Ban Bathing on Central Beach in Bulgaria's Lozenets Photo: Wikipedia

Bathing on the central beach in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Lozenets has been temporarily forbidden due to polluted waters.

After taking samples of the water, health authorities established that there were deviations on the microbiological indicators above the acceptable values.

The inspection was carried out after several signals for polluted water were submitted to the district governor of Burgas Valcho Cholakov.

The results show that the pollution of the waters in the area presents a risk for the health of the bathers.

The health authorities will continue to regularly monitor the quality of the water and will lift the ban once two consecutive samples confirm that there is no longer risk for the health of bathers.

Until then, authorities advise the visitors of the beach to observe the temporary ban, daily Sega informs.
