The Bulgarian Managing Authority of operational program Environment 2014-2020 has launched the first grant-awarding procedure.

The procedure involves the designing and construction of compost plants for separate collection of biodegradable waste and green waste, according to a media statement on the website of the operational program.

Funding will be also be allocated to measures aimed at providing the necessary equipment and installations for separate collection of biodegradable waste and green waste.

The eligible beneficiaries under the procedure are Bulgarian municipalities and the total amount of funding stands at BGN 97 791 500.

The resources provided under the procedure are to help reduce the wastage of biodegradable waste and green waste through separate collection and to ensure a more efficient use of waste.

Grant requests may be submitted by August 1, 2016.
