PARLIAMENT SPEAKER TO MEET COLONEL QADDAFI

Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Ognyan Gerdzhikov left for Tripoli on the invitation of the Libya leader Mohmmar Qaddafi to participate in the celebrations for the National Holiday of the country. A meeting between Gerdzikov and colonel Qaddafi will take place, parliamentary sources disclosed. Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Petkov, Member of Parliament Evgenia Zhivkova, and foreign ministry officials participate in the Bulgarian delegation. Before leaving, Gerdzikov met with the mother of Christiyana Velcheva and the daughter of Valya Chervenyashka to propose to take presents to the imprisoned nurses. Christiyana Valcheva and Valya Chervenyashka are among the Six Bulgarian medics who were charged with deliberately infecting 400 Libyan children with the HIV virus and are now in prison. The next trail will take place September 22 in Tripoli.
