The wildfire near the Bulgarian town of Harmanli continues to be raging for the third consecutive day on Friday.

Part of the fire has been extinguished, but it continues to be raging on an area of 300 metres between the villages of Dripchevo and Mladinovo.

The state of emergency, which was declared in the municipality of Harmanli on Thursday, remains in force for the moment, private bTV station reports.

Despite the mountainous terrain and the poor accessibility of the area, which have hampered the efforts to extinguish the fire, it is expected that it will be localised by noon

No people have been hurt by the fire and there is no danger for the inhabitants of the surrounding settlements.

More than a hundred people have been working on taming the wildfire, including 35 servicemen with military equipment.
