Taxies levied on cars and real estate in four Bulgarian municipalities may now be paid online via the website of the National Revenue Agency (NRA).

The service is so far available for the municipalities of Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, AND Varna, according to a media statement of the NRA.

In May the NRA and the Finance Ministry launched an online tax inquiry system for local taxes and fees.

The system provides information about the obligations of legal and natural persons to over 200 municipalities in Bulgaria.

The service now allows online payments to four of Bulgaria’s largest municipalities and is to be extended to other municipalities in the coming months.

Information about the local taxes and fees due is obtainable via the personal identification code issued by the NRA.

The code may be issued at any office of the NRA, regardless of the address registration of the applicant.
