Car Bomb Near Italian Consulate in Cairo Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

The explosion of a car bomb near the Italian Consulate in the Egyptian capital on Saturday claimed the life of at least one person and injured four people.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which has left the building in central Cairo severely damaged.
At the time of the explosion, the consulate was closed and no civilian staff members have been injured, the BBC reports.
Egypt's Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat was assassinated in a car bombing in Cairo last month, while a similar attack targeting a police station left three people dead.
Egyptian security officials have been fighting Islamic militants, but this has been largely limited to the Sinai Peninsula.
The attacks of Islamic militants have increased since the military deposed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Since then militants have killed at least 600 Egyptian police officers and military personnel.
