‘’We find ourselves in a tragic situation … the dilemma that creditors unfortunately are putiing on the table is either forceful Bulgarization of the Greek society or going out of the union and terminating all relations with it,’’ said Deputy Chair of Greek Parliament from the SYRIZA party, Alexis Mitropoulos in an interview with MEGA TV station, as quoted by Standart news.
The statement was made after German MP and Chairman of the European People’s Party Manfred Weber stated that Greece should be more careful when calling for support from other EU countries. He explained that living standard is lower in a total of 5 countries, including Greece’s northern neighbor Bulgaria.
In his words that meeting of the 28 EU member states to be held on Sunday has been called so that Greece can be further humiliated.
The MP added that the situation is extremely difficult and he is not in favor of a Grexit even if the country needs to file for bankruptcy. He also called on PM Alexis Tsipras to fight for his country in the best possible way.
