Serbia’s Privatization Agency has announced a call for bids for 38 state-owned media outlets, including the Tanjug news agency.

The 38 media outlets, mostly regional radio stations, will be sold via public auctions.

The acquisition of 100% ownership of the Tanjug news agency is estimated at EUR 760, 935.74, according to the online version of Serbian daily Kurir.

Domestic and foreign natural and legal persons, as well as consortiums, may participate in the privatization of Tanjug.

The deadline for the submission of documents is July 30, 3 p.m. local time, while the bid opening will take place on August 3.

The deposit for participation in the procedure stands at EUR 76.093,57.

Meanwhile, Serbia’s Parliament adopted legal changes on Monday to extend the deadline for media privatization by October 31, 2015.

The legal amendments were backed by 158 MPs, with 13 votes against and 3 abstentions, according to B92.

Tanjug was established in November 1943 as Yugoslavia's official news agency.

It was founded by Mo?a Pijade, a close confidant of Josip Broz Tito.
