Helmut Kohl, the former German Chancellor, is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Heidelberg University Hospital, Spiegel Online reported on Tuesday.
Kohl, 85, known as the father of Germany’s reunification had undergone intestine surgery.
According to sources close to modern Germany’s longest serving chancellor, Kohl had been in intensive care for the past three weeks, Spiegel Online said.
