UK Foreign Secretary has stated that the UK might leave the EU unless the ''substantial package of reform'' is implemented effectively, as per the demand made by PM David Cameron.

“We we are very confident that over the course of the summer and perhaps onward through the winter we will be able to negotiate a substantial package of reform, which will address the concerns that the British people have and which the prime minister has articulated,” Hammond stated as quoted by the Guardian.

He further noted that the people of UK will decide whether the country should stay within the boundaries of the union. The deadline for the projected referendum is set for December 31, 2017.

Meanwhile, the main directions of the necessary reforms were also outlined, as stated by PM David Cameron. They involve preventing migrants from claiming benefits for four at least four years from their arrival to the UK. Additionally, the UK will be pleading for op-tout of the ''ever closer union'' declaration, the power to block legislative amendments, as well as the a ban upon non-Eurozone member states to change the rules of the single market policies.

Cameron will be visiting Poland, Germany, France, the Netherlands and other EU member states in order to secure support for his proposals.
