Sweden Confers Order on Bulgarian Writer, Businessman

The Royal Swedish Order of the Polar Star, Officer First Class was conferred upon the well-known Bulgarian writer Anton Donchev and the General Manager of ABB Bulgaria Ltd Kiril Drensky for their "outstanding contributions to promote Swedish interests." According to Swedish Embassy in Sofia, Anton Donchev has been a key figure and a link between Swedish and Bulgarian culture circles trough the years while Kiril Drensky has an extensive of contacts in both countries - "an invaluable asset for the Swedish-Bulgarian business relations." On behalf of H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf, Ambassador Sten Ask will present the two Bulgarians with the insignia at a reception in the Swedish Embassy December 3. This is the second time that the order have been conferred on a Bulgarian since writer Yordan Radichkov got it in 1988.
