The Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) reportedly revoked the licences of two clubs from the capital – CSKA and Lokomotiv Sofia.

According to 24 Chasa daily, the Licensing Committee of BFS revoked the licence of CSKA for both the domestic A Group and the European tournaments and the same decision was taken for Lokomotiv Sofia, gong.bg informs.

Both teams did not manage to settle outstanding debts to the National Revenue Agency (NAP) before the March 31 deadline.

The teams have the right to appeal the decision of the Licensing Committee, which should be done within the space of a week.

The appeal will apply only for the licence for the domestic tournament, not the European ones, as all deadlines were missed.

The teams of Marek Dupnitsa and Haskovo are in a similar situation, but since they are relegated, their faith will be decided additionally.

CSKA and Lokomotiv Sofia were two of the four teams competing for the spots in the final standing, which provide participation in the European tournaments.

The revocation of their licences would mean that even if they are to occupy these places, the teams of Litex and Beroe will substitute them in the European tournaments.

The other Bulgarian clubs to compete in Europe will be the team of Ludogorets, which claimed its fourth successive championship title and the winner of the Bulgarian Cup final, which pits against each other Levski Sofia and Cherno More.

This will be the second time in the history of CSKA, when its licence for the European tournaments is revoked, daily Dnevnik reports.

The first case was in 2008, when the club was granted an extension and continued its participation in the A Group.

The main problems facing CSKA are the debts amounting to around BGN 10 M.

The former majority shareholder Alexandar Tomov for a long time assured that there will be no problems this year.
