Pro-European Protests Intensify in Georgia as Government Shifts Away from EU Path
Protests have continued to rock Georgia following the government’s controversial decision to suspend its bid to join the European Union
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and President Rosen Plevneliev congratulated on Friday David Cameron on his reelection in the UK general elections, which were held on Thursday.
According to Borisov, the reelection of Cameron reflected the positive attitudes and the approval of the British people of his first term, which came in a difficult time of great challenges for Europe and the world.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister expressed his assurance that the fruitful cooperation between Bulgaria and the UK as well as the successful collaboration within the EU and NATO will further deepen and expand.
Borisov also wished David Cameron good health and further successes in his second term as prime minister.
According to Plevneliev, the convincing results of the Conservatives were due to their consistent reform policies in the areas of fiscal discipline, economic growth, social policy, employment, pension insurance and education.
The Bulgarian President expressed his confidence that the achievements of the Conservatives' first term was a guarantee for the successful continuation of their reform policies.
The Bulgarian Head of State wished Cameron success in his second term and expressed his readiness to continue working for consolidating the partnership between Bulgaria and the UK both bilaterally, as well as within the frameworks of EU and NATO.
