Police have detained the driver of a car which hit and killed a boy crossing a boulevard in the city of Burgas on Saturday and fled the site, 24 Chasa newspaper reported.
The 21-year old man, a resident of Burgas, was driving a BMW 320i car that ran over the eight-year old boy on Todor Aleksandrov boulevard.
The driver, who fled the site of the road accident, was arrested by police late on Saturday.
The child was crossing the boulevard in a section which has not been designated as a pedestrian crossing. It was not immediately clear whether the car was travelling at a speed faster than the limit of 80 km/h set for the area.
