Emma Hopkins: People who Wish to Work in the UK will Apply through a New System
The British ambassador specified that Bulgarians can travel to the Island for up to 6 months
Emma Kate Hopkins OBE, Britain's new Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, is already in Sofia, the British Embassy has announced.
According to the embassy's Twitter account, Her Excellency is to take up office "soon".
Last year the British Embassy announced she would take up her appointment in May 2015.
A barrister by background, her career in government has spanned immigration, human rights, EU, organized crime as well as violence against women. She has been working at the FCO since 2012, and has been Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) since last year.
Hopkins' predecessor Jonathan Allen left for the UK in January to become Director for National Security at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Earlier this year Mr Allen was the winner of Novinite.com's Personality in the News Poll in Diplomacy.
