President Stoyanov and Interior Minister Georgi Petkanov exchanged explanation letters on Boyko Borisov`s appointment for Chief Secretary #2 position in the Interior Ministry, Dnevnik Daily wrote. The statement of Petkanov that he received Stoyanov`s written approval for the appointment was the cause for the discord. The Press Secretary of the Presidency sent a letter to the Interior Minister explaining that the President does not issue written approval but issues a decree for the appointment of the Chief Secretary. It was emphasized in the letter that the appointment will be a fact only when the President signs the decree. The letter that Petkanov talked about was most probably only a co-ordination letter, signed by the President Chief Administrative Secretary Rumen Hristov.
